Room Acoustics
Determining the volume, shape, proportions, materials and finishes of acoustically critical spaces to meet specific acoustical design objectives and provide an excellent listening environment for music performance, listening, or speech intelligibility. Critical to performance spaces, we also provide design and specification of orchestra shells, adjustable canopies, and variable acoustics systems.
Noise Control/Sound Isolation
Develop sound isolation systems for all acoustically critical spaces including design and detailing of partitions, floor/ceiling assemblies, and building envelopes to provide acceptable background noise levels commensurate for programmed uses. Provide clear, cost effective construction methods and details for incorporation into construction drawings.
Mechanical System Analysis
Based on critical analysis of the mechanical systems for each project, we prepare engineered noise and vibration control solutions for building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevator, and other building systems with respect to satisfying specific interior acoustical environment criteria.
Performance Testing
Conduct field tests of architectural spaces and construction assemblies to verify conformance of design objectives. Room characteristics such as reverberation time, uniformity of coverage, background noise levels, along with testing of building assemblies required to meet minimum government standards. Includes NIC, STC, FIIC, Leq, CNEL along with other measurements all in accordance with applicable testing standards.
Community noise monitoring
Analysis of existing, and the prediction of future noise environments due to vehicular surface traffic, freeway, aircraft, and railway operations. Monitor and develop noise exposure maps for airport, rail, vehicle transportation, and industry for use in community planning.
Conduct field measurements to determine noise ordinance compliance for mechanical equipment and other noise sources.
Expert Witness
Provide acoustical testing services and expert witness testimony for construction defect litigation.
